Help! HP 1319 series printer/scanner/copier won't scan? HP Director does not open?

I have an HP 1310 printer/scanner/copier and it isnt working properly. When documents are sent to the printer, it is fine, however when I try to use it to scan an image, the HP Director scanning software does not open from the programs list. It also doesnt work to try to use the auto run of HP Director when you push the Scan button on the printer.





I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software, but it still doesnt work.





The printer is only about two years old.





System info:


Dell DIMENSION DIM 4550 Intel (R)


Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz


2.52GHz, 640 MB of RAM

Have you tried going to control panel

and then a scanner wizard comes up.

Have you tried maybe going to HP's website and downloading the latest drivers and software?


Also, here's a thought, have there been any updates done recently? Sometimes when MS does Windows updates, every once in a while, the update will cause a glitch somewhere else (like your printer??)





That's why I recommend going to the website to check for new/updated or even just refreshing your software.

I do all the scannings through HP solution center (my programs).
