depends on what u wanna use it for. But in general, I like Hp better. Better availability of consumables. IF your into refilling your own cartridges, then HP is better and easier. Cheaper too.I will buy printer multifunction, which selected HP, Canon, Epson, Brother or Kodak?
Like everyone else on here, Canon or HP are the best.
On Both, look at the cartridges, and the number of pages they do. The cheaper the printer is to buy, more $$ to keep.
Canon, look for the 5 Black and 8 colors.

based on my experienced, i prefer canon..
though canon little bit expensive compared to hp..but canon prints fine..it would be more useful if u have canon camera..
like canon..the ink normally 10ml while hp is 5ml..which is why ink for canon is more expensive than hp..it depends on you actually.if you need print more.i suggest canon..longer ink..
Canon is probably the best one. It prints out perfectly
