Why isn't my HP Photosmart C4480 All-In-One not being recognized as a printer? Software install was successful?

Here is the correct way and it WILL work :-)





Remove the USB cable from the printer only, Power on the printer and begin a fresh install.


Re-connect the USB only when the software asks you at one point. Then let it complete its installation.





Reboot and windows will find the new hardware and IT WILL WORK.





If you need to scan, use the scanning software that came with it. Go in the File menu, select SCAN or use ADOBE Photoshop and select the TWAIN driver and then Scan.

sounds like you powered on printer to early while installing.


reinstall and read prompts will tell you when to turn power on to printer.

Go to start menu then printer %26amp; faxes %26gt; open it then select your hp all in one then rt click on it then set it to default printer.
